Fr Dan Joe O’Mahony, a Capuchin Friar based in the Dublin 15 area, was honoured recently at St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown for his leadership over many years in raising €8.5m toward its construction costs.
At a ceremony on 23rd January, Fintan Fagan, CEO of St Francis Hospice Dublin, thanked Fr Dan Joe for his continuing support, saying, “Fr Dan Joe embodies the core values of dignity, respect and compassion, which drive his tireless work for the hospice. Fr Dan Joe lives out the words of St Francis of Assisi who said, ‘Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible’.”
Fr Dan Joe was presented with a framed picture of St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown to mark his exceptional contribution to St Francis Hospice, as a leading light in the vision and development of dignified and compassionate hospice care in our community.
